The Society has been exploring and documenting caves in Ireland for a long time. As well as the many papers published in our Proceedings (and Newsletter), we have produced a series of guide books, starting with the ‘Caves of North-West Clare’ in 1969. This was followed up with ‘Caves of County Clare’ in 1981 and ‘Caves of Clare and south Galway’ in 2003. Copies of the former may still be obtained. Contact our Sales Manager for details. The latter, although long out of print, is still available from our online shop as an ebook.

In 2019, we published ‘Caves of Mid-West Ireland’, which covers the counties of Clare, Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. In 2022 we followed up with ‘Caves of southern Ireland’ covering counties Kerry, Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Kilkenny, Laois and Offaly. These two books are available from our online shop. Members can purchase them at a discount and should contact the Treasurer for details.
